The sky's falling… Or at least that's what it feels like. There are dead bodies beside him… and there's screaming in the distance. And the wails are unheard by a God that he knows doesn't exist. (He's never been a man of faith but… now…) He has a pistol in hand and he's staring up--cracking glass, rushing water, screaming, screaming, always screaming. Everything's falling in on itself. There's no hope of survival anymore. (An inhuman roar builds at the back of his throat.) He's not human anymore. It's foggy, hazy… everything's distant and blurry. Vacant, half-lidded eyes and soft parted lips; Jack's having trouble focusing. There's a thin line that flushes the cold, black-and-white of reality from the warmth of memory and the vivid watercolour of the cleverly painted illusion that's tattooed along the walls of his head and laced through his body. The illusion… even if it's distant and fading it's so easy to slip amidst the cracks of false memory so he can forget about the chill of the present and the bleak, charcoal gray of the real past.

The Hiatus

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 25, 2009, 2:25 PM
I... after a few days away of thinking, I've come to a conclusion. I feel kind of horrible for flaking out like this but it's necessary. A need for a hiatus has made it's way to me. I don't know how long it will be, but...

Just... pretty much, I'm going to be gone for... well, I don't know just yet.
I'll be on messenger tomorrow and Friday for a bit but after that...
It's just, it's my last year of high school. I haven't looked up anything about scholarships. I haven't applied to any colleges. I haven't made a move to do anything. And I need to. I'm not going to get by life by just writing, listening to music, and hiding in my house...

And, this is a really extreme decision but it's the only way I'm going to be able to condition myself for college...
I'mma miss you all, I just...
I need to do this.

I've been meaning to watch you but I keep getting sidetracked by everything else. I love your writing, it's super excellent, and between you and Cirque, I'm completely hooked on Jack/Fontaine.

I'll probably add some myself, but I haven't actually played Bioshock, so I'll probably wait 'til after the holidays, since that's when I'm getting it. hopefully...

I'll dedicate one to you too! After I do one for Cirque, of course. ;D
